March Labour Day Rally in Benalla

Another great rally.

Final night at Bairnsdale

Leaving after 4 nights at Mallacoota we travelled through rain that I had not seen for a couple of months to the Mitchell Gardens caravan park in Bairnsdale. The rain disappeared about 1 hour before Bairnsdale and we found a hot 32 on arrival.

We went to the local Chinese restaurant for dinner but were a little disappointed with the meal. It did save us cooking dinner though.

We all went our separate ways on Monday to our various homes. Another great trip had by all and now to start the planning for next year. Barossa Valley and Flinders Ranges have been mentioned.

Back were we started.

Back where we started.

Mallacoota was our trip wind down stop. This is the biggest park I think I have seen. With around 700 site for caravans, motorhomes and tents right on the forehore. The weather cooled and there was a little rain. A fishing competition was held on the weekend.

The guys did a little rock fishing on a couple of day and Ian was crowned the winner.

Narooma Surfbeach Holiday Park, 1 hour down the road was our next destination. The view from the top of the park was to die for. The caravan sites were on the side of the hill overlooking the the Surf club and nearby beach. Nightly we gathered for happy hour overlooking the sea.

Batemans Bay

We moved on to the BIG4 Batemans Bay Beach Resort, 51 Beach Road, Batehaven for 7 nights. The weather was warm and humid and few showers of rain.

We did a bit of site seeing and shopping and generally chilled out. Again we got together for a roast pork, beef and lamb meal cooked in the well equiped camp kitchen. We also had a film night of Mrs Browns Boys and lots of laughter was heard from afar.

On our last night we had dinner out and went to a 70’s and 80’s show and danced the night away.

After a leisurely start at 10 am the Posse boss (Noel) headed us out on the road. We lunched at Cann River. There is a basic caravan park just before you get into town that you pay for at the pub and as there were only a couple of vans there we could all fit.

Our destination was the Merimbula Beach Holiday Park Short Point Road for 6 nights. The park has two sections. One with cabins overlooking the beach and pool and powered sites and another section with a large grassed area where we were parked.

Our Sites

Of course many happy hours were spent together.

The guys went on a fishing trip and caught some great fish and we had a fish dinner in the camp kitchen.

Members Trip to Batemans Bay

On Sunday 3rd March 6 Jayco Nomad caravans met up at the Mitchell Gardens caravan park for our first overnight stop. Most vans were able to remain hitched up for an easy start to the trip.

Alan & Sandy, Noel & Lyn, David & Charmaine, Ian & Brenda, Graham & Sue and Kath were eager to leave behind the hot weather.
